After completing his law degree at Queensland University of Technology Craig began working at a law firm but soon realised that his real interest was in the mortgage industry. “I was buying a house & one day I asked my mortgage broker about his job & the rest is history,’’ says Craig. “I made a decision that was quite risky at the time but in retrospect it was the best decision I could have made.”
Craig founded MAP Home Loans in 2010. He has earned a reputation for ensuring his clients’ needs are met in a timely manner, and was named a finalist in the 2014-15 and 2015-16 Broker of the Year Award within the Australian Finance Group.
In 2016 he co-founded an industry-leading mortgage broking technology platform, now used by thousands of Australian mortgage brokers. Then in 2026 he co-founded Approov, a mortgage broking platform built around higher levels of speed and automation for borrowers.
MAP Home Loans specialises in helping visa holders and Australian expats obtain the funds they need to buy and invest in property in Australia. Craig draws on a Graduate Certificate in Australian Migration Law and Practice to assist these clients.
“Our most common clients in this space are partner visa holders, partners of New Zealand citizens on a 461 visa, and Australian expats earning foreign income. For visa holders, our role is to help them buy now rather than spend two to four years renting until permanent residency is granted,” says Craig.
