If you’re like most of us, you’re more optimistic than ever that you’ll be able to own your own home or buy an investment property. But where do you start?
Well, to help you out, I wrote a book. Quite a long book. The reason it’s so big is I wanted to pack in as much information as I could about buying property in Australia. But, I hear you ask, aren’t there many other books on mortgages and borrowing? Yes, there are, but they tend to be aimed at those on six-figure salaries with standard 9 to 5 roles. Frankly, these people don’t need too much help, although they’ll definitely pick up some tips for paying down a mortgage sooner.
There are so many potential home owners out there who fall outside the spectrum within which lenders are comfortable lending. My book covers these home loan or investment loan borrowers and will help them get to a stage where they’re able to apply for a mortgage successfully (and pay it off sooner).
Borrowers with special considerations
It’s easy enough to find information on how to buy property or investment in property in Australia if you fall into what I call the ‘normal’ range. However, there are many workers who don’t fit in the normal box. At MAP, we specialise in helping buyers with special considerations. So if you’re an expat or you have unsteady income, you’re self-employed or on maternity leave, for example, you’ll find a section in my book that will give you heart.
We’ve all gone on to those financial websites to calculate our financial position. For many of us, the figures are totally unrealistic. At MAP, we can show you how you can buy a property (or two) on the type of salary that is below what the main lenders consider to be an ‘average’ salary.
Mortgage secrets for professionals
In my book, I also discuss the special benefits to which you might be entitled as a professional. If you’re a practising doctor, approved medical practitioner, accountant, finance manager, auditor or actuary, lawyer, veterinary surgeon, pharmacist, physiotherapist or engineer, you might qualify for these benefits. You’ll read some case studies in the book that show how professionals saved thousands simply by taking advantage of what’s available to them.
