Studying finance at the University of Queensland paved the way for Justin to embark on a successful career in the mortgage industry. Since 2007 he has been helping clients purchase their own homes and investment properties as well as restructuring liabilities. Just as a mortgage is a long-term commitment, Justin believes building lifelong relationships with clients is equally important. In fact, most of his clients are referred to him by previous customers.
“I enjoy helping clients move into their homes and I love the fact that most people appreciate your work,” says Justin. “If you look after your clients they won’t forget you.”
As a loan writer, Justin says the highlight of his career to date has been helping 21 clients settle into their homes in a period of just one month. In terms of attitude, he believes having a strong work ethic is crucial. “It’s important to be reliable and honest and making sure I always put the clients’ needs ahead of my own,” he says. And the best advice he offers his clients when it comes to managing their home loans?
“Make extra re-payments as it makes a huge difference to the amount of interest you pay over the life of the loan.” When Justin is not working he enjoys spending time with his wife and two young children. He also likes cooking, snowboarding and going to the beach.
